|Classic Movie Series (1930 - 1970)|
|Instructor:||Diane Rathbun (info)|
"What an exciting movie series we have this summer! We will be tripping through the decades with the Academy Award winners of the Best Picture awards. The first films we will see will be "You Can't Take it With You" from the 1930s, "The Best Years of Our Lives" from the 1940s, "Around the World in 80 Days" from the 1950s and "The Apartment" from the 1960s. Our final film will be from the 1970s and the entire class will vote on which they would like to see. We will discuss each of these films in relation to the era they were produced, interesting tidbits of the actors, and some behind the scenes stories in the making of these landmark films. Bring some snacks and drinks and relax in the nostalgia of big screen performances. Each evening we will begin at 6:00 in the Burton Business Center on the campus of McNeese State University. There is free parking adjacent to the building. We would be delighted to have you join us!"
